GENKI 1 & 2 | |
---|---|
Description | Probably the most recommended textbook series for self study. These books are easy to use with clear lessons, exercises, and interesting content to keep things fun. Genki 1 starts off aimed at a complete beginner, learning hiragana/katakana, very basic vocabulary and grammar, counting, etc. increasing in difficulty for 12 chapters. Genki 2 continues the lessons with more advanced grammar and vocabulary, and more complex exercises. These two books will get you to a pretty solid intermediate level when supplemented with external resources for kanji, speaking/listening, and other practice drills. There is a workbook for each textbook which can be useful for completing the exercises and practicing concepts on your own. |

Tobira | |

Description | For intermediate learners who have finished a beginner textbook or two already. A bit drier and more plain if you're used to something like Genki, but a great step towards more advanced learning. |
